Weapons

Even after three art filled years with =PureTails, it seems that he still has the ability to surprise us. As proof of his undying originality, Weapons has given us elements of his drawing prose that some of us, me included, may have never thought to see of him. Graphic details, mature ideas, they aren't something that one would commonly refer to when speaking of =PureTails, but this amazing portrait shows that his skill is both wide and tall even within these areas of art.

The Impact of this work of art is undeniable. I, personally, have little doubt that any deviant was both shocked AND awed when this came across their deviant watch. Simply the idea alone is mind blowing, but the visuals on top of this is near mind shattering. A bandage bound girl holding a KAT sniper rifle, RPG, and other power machine guns, while dosed in blood, and... smiling... The dark portrait that's clear to any clashes beautifully with the near joyfully glint of the young girl's eyes. Truly a high impact.

Originality, however is the one category that suffers. This idea has been pursued by several artists prior to :devpurtails:'s attempt at it. Girls have been given guns countless times, bodies have been bloodied again and again, but he does find a saving grace by not only combining the two works wonderfully, but giving the child a very subtle, but present, look of mania about her. What else would cause a girl to smile while half-naked and showered in blood?

Technique, by far, has vastly improved for =PureTails. Every aspect of this artwork as detail carefully set upon. The shadings are spot on, coloring perfect, blood splotches realistic, and dried gore mesmerizing. Even the five different tools of war the girl is holding are colored and lined in near life-like aspects. Not to say that prior works have been poor, but this current image of his drawing skills showcases no longer a simple potential for a professional career, but now true skill for hire.

The thoughts and ideas shown, thrown, and hidden within every line and detail gives a Vision of pure eye-candy. Masochistically pleased girl covered in blood is horrifying. The weapon detail and accuracy is exhilarating. Even the gore and wounds are mesmerizing.

Through it all, and in the end, =PureTails has given us yet another vision of the workings of his mind. Not only can he give us fun loving images of every creature on God's good earth, but he can even deliver ideas from the darkest depths of our mind.

Never doubt the power behind this art. After all... what's a war without it's weapons?
